Layaway or pay in full

On a product page, Reserve with layaway and Buy now open the Choose how to pay window with two tabs: Layaway and Pay in full.

A layaway reserves the product for you with a down payment. You pay the rest in installments of your choice before a deadline, and you take the product home once it is fully paid.

Choosing a layaway

Down payment. Move the slider to choose the share of the total you pay first, within the range the store allows (in the example, from 20% to 80%). The window shows the Down payment, the Remaining amount and the Total, recalculated for each percentage.

Deadline. “Pay the rest by …” shows the date by which the whole total must be paid. It is set when you place the order, from the store’s layaway period plus a few days of grace, and it does not change afterwards.

Placing it. Select Reserve and continue to payment to go to the checkout for the down payment. The product is set aside for you from that moment. If no payment arrives within a short time set by the store, the order is cancelled and the product goes back on sale; if that happens, simply reserve it again.

Paying. The first payment must be at least the down payment and can be more, up to the total. After that, pay whenever you like: each installment must be at least the store’s minimum payment, unless it pays off everything that’s left. The checkout shows the range for each payment (“Between … and …”). See paying by card and paying by bank transfer.

One layaway per category. You can have one layaway in progress in each of the store’s main categories. If you try to reserve another product of the same category, you are offered to move your layaway to it instead.

When it’s paid. Your order shows Ready for pickup, and the store’s pickup and delivery instructions appear on it. If the deadline passes first, see when a layaway expires.

The Pay in full tab shows the Total. Select Continue to payment and pay the total in a single payment. Paying in full is not limited by the one-layaway-per-category rule.
